Conformance status
We design and build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549. We assess conformance by self-evaluation: accessibility is built into our design system and components, and we run automated checks on our key pages. A formal third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit is planned after launch. On that basis, this site is partially conformant — it meets most requirements, and we are actively working toward full conformance.
What we've done
Accessibility is built in from the ground up, not retrofitted:
- Semantic HTML with a clear, consistent heading structure on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- A "skip to content" link as the first focusable element on the page.
- Text and interface colours checked for sufficient contrast.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images (decorative images are hidden from assistive technology).
- Respect for the "reduce motion" system preference — animations are minimised for visitors who ask for it.
- Labelled form fields.
Known limitations
We would rather be candid about where we are still improving:
- Some interactive demonstrations and embedded media are still being reviewed for full assistive-technology support.
- Some brand-blue and teal interface elements — buttons, links and section labels — do not yet meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1. Improving this while preserving our brand identity is on our remediation list.
- Downloadable documents (for example, case-study PDFs) may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers.
We aim to address these through our ongoing work and the planned formal audit.
